Cetearyl alcohol and coco-glucoside form a non-ionic oil-in-water emulsifier blend supplied as waxy pellets. Compared with the cetearyl-glucoside grade, the shorter-chain coco-glucoside fraction produces lower-viscosity, faster-breaking emulsions with a lighter after-feel – the profile usually wanted for lotions, milks and sprayable formats. Both grades work through the same lamellar-network mechanism.

How It Works
- Shorter hydrophobic chain – the coco-derived glucoside is more hydrophilic than the cetearyl equivalent, shifting the balance toward O/W systems with lower viscosity.
- Lamellar structure with lower modulus – the resulting gel network is softer, which reads as a lighter, more rapidly absorbed product.
- Texture control – blending with the richer cetearyl-glucoside grade is the usual way to tune body without changing the emulsifier system.
- Processing – melt with the oil phase and cool under shear; very high shear at low temperature can thin the network.
