What Is Resveratrol?
Resveratrol (CAS 501-36-0, molecular formula C14H12O3) is a naturally occurring stilbene polyphenol first isolated from the roots of white hellebore and now commonly extracted from Polygonum cuspidatum (Japanese knotweed), red grape skins, and peanuts. Formulation Guidance
trans-Resveratrol is sensitive to light, heat, and alkaline pH. For best stability, finished formulations should target pH 5.0–6.8 and use opaque, airtight packaging. Co-formulation with piperine (5–10 mg per dose) can increase oral bioavailability several-fold. Typical supplemental doses range from 100 mg to 500 mg daily; topical skincare uses 0.5–2% in serums and night creams.
