What Is Gluconolactone?
Gluconolactone is a polyhydroxy acid (PHA) derived from glucose through natural fermentation, supplied as a white crystalline powder that is highly water-soluble and formulation-friendly. With CAS No. 90-80-2 and INCI name Gluconolactone, it is also known as glucono-delta-lactone (GDL, food additive E575), making it one of the few exfoliating actives with documented dual use in both cosmetics and food applications. How It Works
