Alpha-bisabolol (alpha-bisabolol, levomenol) is a monocyclic sesquiterpene alcohol and one of the best-characterised single-entity actives used in skin-care formulation. It occurs naturally in Eremanthus erythropappus (candeia) wood oil and in chamomile oil, and is also produced synthetically at industrial scale. VeraVita Bio supplies both the natural (-)-alpha isomer and the synthetic racemic grade, quoted separately because the two are not interchangeable in fragrance-sensitive or natural-origin briefs.

How It Works

Storage & Handling
Store in a closed container in a cool, dry place, protected from light. The material is a viscous liquid and may become cloudy or partially crystalline at low temperature – warm gently and homogenise before use; do not sustain temperatures above 40 °C. Keep away from strong oxidising agents.
